26-year hospitality veteran to operate beautiful hotel along the river Cam
CAMBRIDGE, UK - Chris Douglas has joined the team at the DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge City Centre as general manager, bringing over 26 years of hospitality experience to the role.
The hotel, which was the first DoubleTree by Hilton in the UK, offers breath-taking views of the River Cam and direct access to the centre of Cambridge.
Prior to his new role in Cambridge, Chris was the general manager at Hilton Dublin Airport for almost 4 years, winning General Manager of the Year in 2015 and Commercial Team of the Year in 2016 at the Hilton Regional UK & Ireland Awards.
Chris, who first joined the company as Operations Manager at Hilton Edinburgh Grosvenor in 2007, said: "I hope to continue to bring DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge City Centre at the forefront of visitors' minds when booking a stay at this beautiful, historic and cosmopolitan city".
"We are also investing in the property, with 16 additional bedrooms being built. The Granta Suite is being extended and refurbished making it the largest hotel meeting and banqueting space in the city".
