LINCOLN, U.K. - The DoubleTree by Hilton Lincoln has been presented with two top awards at the Lincolnshire Media Business Awards for 2013.

Held at the Lincolnshire Showground, the awards honour the finest business achievements of the past twelve months throughout Lincolnshire. The team at the DoubleTree by Hilton were awarded with 'Start Up Business of the Year', as well as the prestigious 'Business of the Year' award.

Since opening in December 2011, the business has seen significant growth in their occupancy, revenue and profit figures and has created 80 jobs in the community, including ones for a number of University of Lincoln graduates.

Located on Brayford Wharf North, the building project saw the redevelopment of the previously derelict site of the former Electricity Works for the City of Lincoln. Brayford Hotels Ltd, which owns and runs the site, brought the globally recognised Hilton brand to Lincoln with 115 luxury bedrooms, 720 square metres of meeting and function space and the popular fifth floor Electric Bar and Restaurant.

Engaging with the local community is a key focus of the hotel, and they play an active part in promoting Lincoln as a tourist and business destination. They support and get involved in local events, including sponsorship of Waddington Air Show, promotion of Lincoln BIG's events, and involvement with the Lincoln Comedy Festival.

The awards add to an impressive list of achievements for the city centre hotel this year, including the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for the second year running, and a 9.1 out of 10 Booking.com Review Score Award.
